Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 25 July 2026

These terms govern your purchase and play of the outdoor escape games offered by Holland Park Escapes. By buying a game and ticking the acceptance box at checkout, you agree to them. Please read them before you pay.

1. Who we are

Holland Park Escapes ("we", "us", "our") provides self-guided outdoor escape games played on foot around Holland Park, Diemen, the Netherlands, and solved on your own phone.

You can reach us at the address on our Contact page. [Placeholder: add the registered company name, KvK number and VAT number before launch.]

2. What you are buying

A game is a one-time purchase that unlocks a single playthrough of one escape for one team. One purchase covers your whole team — members join by opening the share link on their own phones. There is no subscription and no account is required to play.

The game is self-guided: there is no host, no staff on site, and no fixed start time. You play at your own pace using the directions and puzzles in the app.

3. Price and payment

The price shown at checkout is in euros and includes any applicable VAT. Payment is processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe, using the method you choose (for example iDEAL, card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Bancontact). We do not receive or store your full card details.

Promo codes, where offered, apply a fixed discount to the price shown and cannot be exchanged for cash.

4. Getting into your game

After payment you set a team name and receive a link back into your game by email and on screen. Keep this link — it is how you and your team return to the game. Treat it as you would a ticket: anyone with the link can join and play along.

5. One completion, no replays

Each purchased game may be completed once. Only a first completion counts, and completed games cannot be reset or replayed. Your final score is published on the public leaderboard under your chosen team name.

6. Cancellation and refunds

Because a game is digital content made available immediately, you agree that access begins as soon as your purchase is confirmed, and you acknowledge that your statutory right of withdrawal ends once you start playing.

If you have not yet started a game, contact us and we will refund it. Once a game has been started or completed it is non-refundable. [Placeholder: confirm this refund policy with the founder.]

7. Safety and your responsibility

The game is played outdoors in a real neighbourhood with live traffic, other people, and changing weather. You take part at your own risk and remain responsible for your own safety and that of your group at all times.

Follow all traffic rules and local signage, watch your surroundings rather than only your phone, and do not enter private property, trespass, or cause a nuisance. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult, who accepts responsibility for them.

Stops rely on an honour-system "I'm here" check-in; we do not track your location. Use common sense and stop playing if conditions become unsafe.

8. Leaderboard and team names

Your team name is shown publicly on the leaderboard. Choose a name that is not offensive, does not impersonate anyone, and does not contain personal data. We may hide or remove any team name at our discretion.

9. Intellectual property

The stories, puzzles, text, images and software that make up our games are ours or our licensors' and are protected by law. You may use them only to play the game you have purchased. You may not copy, record, republish or resell any part of a game, or share its answers publicly.

10. Liability

We provide the game with reasonable care but cannot guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and directions may occasionally be affected by changes in the real world. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the game.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

11. Privacy

We handle your personal data (such as your email address) to deliver your game and provide support. [Placeholder: link to a full privacy statement before launch.]

12. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the version shown at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase. These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands, and disputes will be handled by the competent Dutch courts.
